Anxiety is a natural and necessary aspect of life and it affects the whole body. Problematic levels of anxiety are associated with overwhelming which can lead to avoidance and defensive reactions. My approach to anxiety counselling starts with a foundation of mindfulness which can improve safety allowing for a focus on the here-and-now. I then engage in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which explores how thinking patterns, emotions, and behaviors sustain or increase anxiety.
